The Mitali Barua Foundation is a Trust formed in memory of Late Mitali Barua, a creative enthusiast, an avid painter and a very promising and accomplished 3D Animator, with the prime objective of promoting and encouraging creative pursuits in the field of Art, Animation and Multimedia. 12-Dec-2009 is Mitali's first birthday after her unfortunate demise and therefore this date has been chosen as the launch date of the Trust. Mitali loved all things creative, and hence the primary focus of the Trust would be towards identifying aspiring and budding talents in the field of Art and Crafts, Animation and Multimedia and encourage their pursuits in their respective fields through awards, grants and scholarships. The Trust seeks to adopt a four pronged strategy to achieve this objective :
- By creating awareness
- By encouraging participation
- By identifying talents
- By promoting and motivating the artists
Primary Objectives of the Trust
- To identify promising talents in the fields of Art and Crafts, Animation, Multimedia, Music, Drama and other Cultural activities through competitions, exhibitions and talent hunts and encourage them through awards, grants, scholarships or any other form of aid in cash or kind.
- To organize orientation camps, refresher course, conferences, exposure visits, seminars, study tours and training programmes and offering assistance to students and general public in the field of art and culture, animation and other multimedia streams.
- To print, publish and circulate books, pamphlets, periodicals etc for promotion and spread of knowledge related to animation, art and culture among the general public.
